RS600 Blog Post Assignment: Final Due Date Tuesday December 5, 2017

I am asking each of you to write a 300-400 word blog entry related to your research study/proposal. Although you are working in a group for the final project, please write this short blog post independently. You are becoming an expert in your chosen topic so this is a chance to share your research-based knowledge.

Your blog should reflect your interest in your chosen topic, and it should be supported by the evidence you found when you reviewed articles for your annotated bibliography.

1. Please give your blog a title.

2. Please make sure to include the following information. It can be woven into your blog in different ways, just make sure you cover it.

• Who you are as a student – e.g., SED masters student in Applied Human Development; undergraduate dual major in psychology and education, etc. – and what you plan to use your degree for – e.g., preparing to teach special education in elementary school.[]

• Briefly describe the problem you are writing about, i.e., include a problem statement. [ ]

• Briefly describe research findings/evidence that is important for us to understand in order to begin to solve/address this problem. Many successful blogs use a simple structure, for example, “three things you should know about ______ “ or “five ways to improve _______”.

• Suggest an action step that your reader can take, or an action step that stakeholders should take. For instance, if you are writing about literacy concerns you might end by suggesting ways that parents could encourage more consistent reading with their child.

PLEASE include in-text citations or footnotes for the research you are citing and include references.

Have fun with this. If you need a little more room to make your point, please do not make it longer than 500 words. This assignment description is 336 words, which should help you get a sense of expected length.
